Hi there,
With redundancy looming on the horizon at the end of February and the knock back letters coming through thick and fast, I am trying to come up with ideas of how to make extra cash.
Anyone tried dropshipping on ebay? I was thinking Ink Cartridges, possibly, only an idea- am very open to other ideas. I have no idea of where to start with it, I understand the concept of dropshipping but don't want to be stung by start up fees, or unreliable products etc. any ideas or stories good or bad with regards to dropshipping and definately ideas of how to start, or is it worth it?
If I could possibly find a dropshipper that is reliable and does not charge start up fees then I can't see how I could loose...but I could be wrong here.
Many thanks in advance

You could lose by picking a dropshipper and product that 50,000 others are already using.
If you do find a dropshipper, and products to sell, check out what they are selling for on ebay. By that I don't mean just look to see how much they are listed for (starting bid), watch the auction, or take a note of the auction number and check after the auction has ended. This will tell you what they are selling for, and how many of them don't actually sell.
Keep one thing in mind.............If you can by it for £x so can every other person in the UK, and many of them will already be doing it.
I doubt you will ever find a product to buy then sell on ebay that isn't already being sold by several other people.
The only question is....is there enough customers for that product to allow you to take a share of them?0 -
Ink cartridges are very cheap to buy - are you sure you'll not make a loss, what with so many others on the market already?Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

Also it is very hard to find a reliable drop shippers, most of those you can find are scammers. There are legit ones but they're really hard to find. Do some research first.Mr. Mulla0 -
You should do your research first regarding selling ink cartridges. Like what geordie joe said, instead of earning money, you might lose some when you venture in this type of business.

I echo what the others say , don't go in to such a competitive market that's already overcrowded you'd do better by finding a niche market that you can concentrate on.wat dose it means?

I agree with Soolin
You need to do research, use free tools such as Google Keyword tool and find niches that are upcoming and less competition(for example apple iphone covers, just a example!)
When doing your research make sure using Google the competition is less then 30,000 if it less then 30,000 and there are one of two adverts that that stick out means its a niche thats not popular but very profitable,
rememeber people are online to find answers to everyday life, so placing yourself into their shoes you could figure what they want and provide the service or product they want
hope that helps"MSE Money saving challenges..8/12/13 3,500 saved so far :j" p.s if i been helpfully please leave me a thank you but seek official advice at all times from a pro0 -

ink cartridges can be a minefield, compats can be bought for 40p or so, the postage costs more than the cartridge.
More often you are competing against massive companies who sell them by the thousand a day.
The problems arise, where you get faulty cartridges and have to replace them.
Percentage the profit looks good, but you are still only making pennies.0 -

If you can, we are getting into the "weight loss for summer" season. I know there are already alot of people selling diet pills, but i know also they are big sellers, and if you can find the product to sell at a decent price that will give you some profit.
But research is the key. Check out the powersellers in whatever area you want to sell and see what prices for goods they are offering.
Also, the higher the feedback rating the better, so with your first load of sales, make sure the goods do exactly as they say on the tin. There are some downsides to dropshipping obviously, but as long as you check out the company first to make sure they're legit, you should be ok.
If you have any way of getting a bulk order of product(s) to start off, this would be the best way to go, as it means you are in total control.Norn Iron Club Member 417:beer:0 -
It would also help if you will check the "completed listings" on eBay. There you will see all the auction that has ended with or without bids You can start from there in choosing which products do sell on eBay.Mr. Mulla0
