So everyone, it is that time of the year again when shops fill up with all things romantic.
Anyone got any special plans of the 14th? Any good bargains to be had, good/bad places for a nice meal?
I have a few ideas for gifts for my OH and was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere in Belfast for a really nice manicure and pedicure?

Vals night I believe is the worst night ya can go out for a meal. It seems to be everywhere is packed and all the food has ben mass produced to cope. Therefore when you get your food, you can tell its been lyin about and just been reheated

Perhaps the small and not so popular restaurants may be a better shout?0 -
Noticed that Arc cafe, castlereagh road is having a intimate fine dining evening, £19.95 per person and includes romantic entertainment. Need to phone and book. i was there last year and it was well worth it.0

Yearly rip off day:eek: and the fact its a Sunday makes it soooo much worse this year, as eateries get to make a fortune out of you twice, at lunchtime and evening meals too:o
I sound like a grumpy old man now:rotfl: but I make time for my OH as often as possible and buy her a wee surprise every week if possible, last week was a massively expensive twin bubbly bath set and a 50p massage sponge from semi chem:) she absolutely love it:T
I begrudge being packed into a restaurant like a sardine on 14th Feb, sold a rubbish mass produced set menu with cheap complimentary wine and a plastic rose for £30 a head:o I'll cook a nice meal at home with a pleasant Rose wine for less than half that:T
Anyone else hate Valentines Day ??? or is it just me:oI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Well we are celebrating Valentine's on Friday night, when we will pay normal prices.0

i agree that valentines is waste of money. esp cos my OH birthday is on 22nd feb and that also costs money.
the only way im doing ant type of romantic dinner is if markseys are doing the meal for a tenner. much nicer than the usual school dinner in fancy restaurant valentines0 -
Im taking the other half out on the Saturday night. Most people I know are doing the same0

saturday will probably be worse than sunday, as everyone will be thinking "we will go on the 13th to avoid it" and restaurants will know this and take full advantage, i would hedge a bet that saturday will be worse!!
im going for the picnic in a car option, gives us a chance to go to one of our favourite and meaningful spots and the effort of making stuff yourself is more appreciated (and a heck of a lot cheaper!!)0 -
