  • I am a childrens nurse and we rountinely give children pain relief rectally esp after surgery. You may find that they give him so paracetamol through the drip in his hand. Just explain that you have been to your GP as he cannot tolerate calpol.
    Im not sticking up for us nurses here but we get alot of parents who say that their child wont take this and that but its because they are not strict enough with their child...the child says no and that that. Its a different story when the actual medicine makes a child unwell.
