Does anyone know where I can get plain wholemeal flour? All I can find in my local tesco or waitrose is wholemeal bread flour, or plain white flour. I have a craving for soda (wheaten) bread now I can get buttermilk! Is a health food shop my best bet?
Thanks

                Thanks

I usually get mine in a health food shop or use spelt flour which seems to work about the same and my local Mr. S. has that.

            thanks,
I use spelt flour to make regular bread but not sure how it would work in soda bread or baking?0

Tescos should have wholemeal plain flour. My one sells the Allinson brand, both plain and self raising.0

It can be hard to find. I've found it in Waitrose, but no sign of any in the Co-op. I usually get it from our local health shop. Think the brand is something like 'Marriage's?'....anyway, it's a good flour & makes nice cakes & wholemeal pastry.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Was about to ask the same question ! But I'm really looking for supermarket own brand wholemeal. Morrisons and Tesco used to sell it, but they've only got Allinsons now, which costs a fair bit more.
