Shopaholic Help in the UK

I have finally realised I have a serious problem.
I have BiPolar disorder, and I thought at first it was just when I was manic that I was overspending, or depressed.
But I'm realising I'm spending ALL the time - money I just do not have.
I have creditors ringing constantly, and sending me letters, and final warning notices, and I ignore the phone, put the letters to one side, and spend, spend, spend... then I feel awful because I spent the money I need to pay the bills and my electricity and gas are about to be cut off if I don't do something!
I had a search online, and found shopaholics.org, but it just seems to be set up to make you pay for information about getting out of buying things.
I don't want to buy something thank you!!!
So... what help is there in the UK? Does anyone know of anything?
I'm planning on asking my GP to see a counsellor and try to sort out the underlying reasons (I have had such serious avoidance issues about thigns like bills, even when they're just a normal bill without any warnings... no idea why!! - since I was young... I can only assume this is BiPolar related)
I really need help.
I'm starting though, and admitting this is one of the biggest things.
Was just wondering if there was help in the UK for people with serious spending issues.
Thanks!!
