Natwest...is it AKA RBS???

Hi there, I'm new to this site so I hope this works.... I am just about to bite the bullet and face my demons. I have done the online CCCS debt remedy and I am to speak to someone tomorrow. I am unsure what route they will advise me....but any route will be better than the way I feel now, not sleeping for the worry etc.
Anway, as HSBC (who I currently have my bank account with) are going to be by far my biggest creditor (e.g. CC's, OD, 2 x personal loans) I am investigating opening another bank account to pay all my DD's from. I was looking at the Natwest account....However, it seems it is owned by the RBS.
This is where I am worried......I have a CC with RBS with a balance of approx £5,500. CCCS will undoubtedly be offering them a reduced payment....Will they be able to take any money from my newly formed bank account? Will this pose any problems? Do they still work as two seperate banks? Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
PS....what a wonderful site this is....I suddenly don't feel so alone x

DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM,
they can legally take money out your newly found account. try halifax, they are not linked to RBS or natwest or HSBC,
just make sure you have no debts with any companies, who are owned by
halifax
bank of scotland

Others to consider are Barclays, A&L, Abbey (both Santander). Nationwide. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
