A Sunday lunch is not complicated it's more about timing. To be honest it's a good place to start along with anything mince based.

Have a read of Mr Badexamples introduction to cooking, plenty of advice along with humour which will bring you to tears and pictures as he goes along.

ps: packet stuffing is okay.;) You can make your own too if you wish.

  • I'm missing something here - how do you eat at the mo'? If Mum cooks, get in the kitchen (and under her feet) - its the best way to learn.

Hi Rikki - I think I shall probs cheat on the stuffing lol. I am going to library tomorrow to get Delias book if theyve got it :)

Hi HGLT thanks for your oh so constructive advise :) I don't go in the kitchen when shes in, as i'm always at work/out when she cooks, there isnt particually room in the kitchen with her and to get under her feet wouldnt be advisable. So I am making an effort to learn a life skill when I have an empty kitchen.

  • I just meant that if your Mum's a good cook, then ask her to show you. That's how "family faves" get passed on from generation to generation.

Check out the recipe mega index here - i think squeaky prepared it. YOu should find plenty of ideas.

Otherwise - pick up a student cookbook at the library, or a copy of delias how to cook.

All of us started somewhere - just pick something you like the look of and follow the recipe.

Perhaps your parents could show you a few things before they go away on holiday
