Hi everyone
I recently joined experian and equifax to see what state my credit file was in..
My experian was not too bad- any problems on it are now settled but the equifax one is showing as having a defaulted account for progressive financial services for £991
Progressive Financial Services Ltd (I) / XXXXXX Loan 12 @ £ 62 (Monthly)
£ 0 £ 991
Date Updated 13/04/2005
Start Date 15/07/1999
Date Last Delinquent 07/02
Default Date 16/07/2002
Default/ Delinquent Balance £ 991
Defaulted Date 16/07/2002
I raised a dispute with Equifax as I didnt know who this definately was( I did check the internet and saw they were a part of welcome finance and I did have a loan with them but was sure it was paid off in my trust deed)
Anyway, to cut a long story short, equifax have come back and said that the information is correct and that I need to get in touch with The Lewis Group on 01274 852000. So, I called them and gave them as much info as I could and they have said that they dont know about me and have no record of me and dont deal with Progressive Financial Services.
I then emailed Equifax who have said that they cant approach the company again and have given me details for the Office of Fair Trading!!
Any ideas??
If I do owe the money, then I want to try and negotiate a full and final payment so that it will at least show as satisfied on my account

If not the contact details are;

As the registered data controller they are responsible for the entry on your file and not the DCA:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0
