Unenforcable Fine?

Hi All,
I need some advice, i had a car insurance policy that ended in October last year. The policy was one of these pay as you drive policies that you have to pay a fine if you go over a certain time when driving the car. I moved home not long after the policy ended and i've managed to get some old mail from the house recently. I had been fined £45 due to this and they cancelled my already cancelled policy on the car due to non payment of this fine. There we're subsequent letters been sent demanding the payment with varying dates of when it needed to be paid. 11 Nov, 22 Dec, 8 Jan and now 12 Feb. The current letter seems alot more threatening, demanding payment as its going to go on my credit record and then to a DCA as a non payment etc. I'd like to ask is this fine actually enforceable and wheather it could affect my credit rating? I've recently been made redundant so at the moment every penny counts.
Thanks
Dan

Well as insurance is a bit of a complex area I would ask on the insurance boards to be honest. Did you break the terms of the insurance?
I know when you take out insurance and pay in installments it is actually a form of credit agreement as they add interest and it is paid over a fixed time, so possibly yes it could effect your credit file. Also as it was insurance that was cancelled it needs to be declared when you apply for new insurance as otherwise the new on will one null and void.
I would ask an isurance expert to be sure though where you stand.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -
The insurance was cancelled after my policy had already expired. I have no idea how they can do that? The monthly payments we're to premium credit and they we're fully settled. Thanks for your advice and i will ask on one of the insurance boards!0
