I have two problems.
First i have a loan with Welcome finance and was told when i missed a payment i could add it on to the end of the agreement and it would not be a problem, since then they have added loads of intrest on to this and i have to pay a higher amount of money to try and bring the debt down it is due to finish this year but i have been told by the person in the office i will have to keep paying for another year to pay back all the intrest that the missed payments has incurred.
Second i have a car finance with welcome finance, but i brought the car from braintree Kia ,i have had nothing but problems with the car and it has now been sitting on my drive for about seven months with the head gasket blown . i have complained to Kia about the car since i brought it and they have not helped me at all .I booked it in after a month for them to look at the gear box and they cancelled the appoint ment then when i tried to book it back in they told me my three month warranty was up. since then i have had the gearstick come off in my hand the gear cables brake and various other problems .i have gone to welcome to see if they can do anything but they said to send in my reciepts and they would see what they can do , they have still not done anything about it i have a year left to pay and i have had the car for nearly three years in that time it has spent more time off the road than on. please help me.

  • Have you tried to read you post??

Just because you owe money on a car doesn't mean you have a warranty on it until it is paid off!!

You have had the car THREE YEARS, you simply cannot expect anyone to sort this out, it wouldn't happen even if you had bought it the proper way (saving up and buying one from a forecourt).

You had a 3 Month warranty, you booked it in but they cancelled...
The next time you tried to book it in, they said the 3 Month warranty had expired..

You would have had a case to argue this one, but leaving it for another two and a half years!!??!!! You got no chance.

why not goto the fos then? or do as welcome say and send recipts in?
  • Firstly ask for a statement of your account from Welcome. Chances are they have charged you for phone calls etc they have never made to you. They are good at that, they did it to us to the tune of £300 but as we had no longer got a contact number they came unstuck. Could prove it too with BT bill. Worth checking what those charges are. When you missed a payment they may have redone your loan hence causing more fees.

Also ask for a copy of your CCA as I would guess they added payment protection insurance on at the start of your loan. They add it on as a lump amount not charged weekly. Which they are now not allowed to do. You can claim this money back!! Which may help get your car fixed!!

PM me if you need any help dealing with them.

I would have thought ths was a trading standards matter. Nothing to do with the finance company. How old is the car?
