Hello
I got a letter this week to say I had won a gift card from an IPC competition. It came with a form to fill in and send back in order to receive the prize. You had to sign and say that you agreed with the rules. When I looked back at the rules on the IPC sites, they all say that 'the winner agrees to participate in publicity'.
Has anyone else had experience of this? I am very very reluctant to have my name and picture printed (I am the sort of person who is too shy to go on facebook), to the point where I am seriously considering turning down the prize. I know that as it's part of the rules you're probably going to say that I shouldn't have entered if I wasn't prepared to take part in publicity but I'd like to know if anyone else has been in a similar position and what happened.
Thank you. And thank you very much to everyone who posts competitions.

Well done on your win!
Hmmm...I think quite a lot of comps have the "winner must agree to take part in publicity" clause in their T&Cs, but I dont know how many of them ever actually ask the winner to do anything? Perhaps more in cases of really big wins, like cars or holidays, but maybe not for a small giftcard, iyswim?
Is there a phone number or email addy that you could contact them with, and just explain that you are a bit shy, & would prefer that you didnt have to have a picture published or anything? Worth a try! Good luck!0 -
99%of the time they dont need a pic ect thats mainly for a real big winReplies to posts are always welcome, if they are done in the correct manner. If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

The most 'publicity' on my winnings I've ever had is having my name and town published on a website. You could always fill out the form with just an initial for a first name. I would say 90% of the time I have agreed to publicity and my details were not published anywhere at all. It's up to you of course but it would be a shame to miss out on your prize2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

I know this won't be the case with you but I have always relied on them not wanting a picture once they have seen me:rotfl::rotfl:"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. I won a Sky comp and they phoned me after I attended Royal Ascot asking if I could write an email about my day out. I did this and added a photo, which was published on thier website for weeks. They did state when they called me that it was not compulsary. I was happy to help though. Hope this helps. Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!0
