Hi All,
Sorry wasn't sure where to post this exactly, so I have put it here and the 'no spend' board.
Just checked our local newspaper online and there is a deal where you get 50 free MP3 songs from emusic for signing up to their 2 week trial.

Thanks for this. Just signed up so I can get Beth Nielsen Chapman track for free. Not available elsewhere where I normally get my free tracks.0

I've done this a couple of time and had great difficulty in finding enought tracks that I would want to download. However, they do give you the option to sign up to a free trial on audiobooks and that is much better - they do have some good books so getting one of those should save at least £10 if you choose well. They also have a section within music called "spoken word" and I got some vintage Joyce Grenfell, some stuff for the grandkids and various other bits from there. So if their choice of music is not for you, you can still make use of this freebie. :T0

I did a free trial like this a couple of years ago and downloaded enough of the Vitamin String Quartet pieces to fill two CDs. They are all-string arrangements of pop and rock songs (no vocals, just instruments). They're really well done and make perfect background music at a dinner party or other gathering where there's lots of talking, and people always comment on how much they like the music. Just thought I'd mention that if anyone's wondering what they'd use the song credits on, as emusic has somewhat limited choices.
BTW, canceling was easy and they never bothered me again. I'm tempted to try this again for more Vitamin String Quartet songs and to see what else they've got now.0 -
I signed up last week, and am just about to finish my freebies, so thank you OP

I can recommend looking at the audiobooks and spoken word downloads in the music section (in 'soundtracks/other') - mostly classics, self help tutorials and some children's - but worth a look as many are only 1 download. I got The Reluctant Dragon for the kids (1hr), among others
