Making Marmalade in bread machine

Hope someone can help. Have a morphy richards fastbake breadmachine and decided to have a go at making marmalade. The recipe was juice of 3 oranges, 1 cup of preserving suguar, rind of 2 oranges and 1 tablespoon of water. The problem was that my oranges didn't seem very juicy so the end result was a black, horrible sticky mess. What I wanted to know was how much juice do you think 3 oranges should produce? Has anyone got any tips for making marmalade in a bread machine. Many thanks.

No water? That recipe doesn;t look right at all, but I make marmalade in a pan :D

My recipe uses 1kg fruit, and 2l water. That was about 8 oranges this year, and Sevilles aren;t juicy compared to sweet oranges.
