it'll be a lovely range of folks...from a few months old (;)) to those with grandbabies. Lovely!
have a stonking cold so the sourdough tasted like normal bread to me, but DH assures it packs a lovely sour punch. I think once I get into the groove, I can figure out how to make 3 or so loaves at once rather than all this effort into just this one!
if you SC chickpeas, I don't think you need to soak them? I could be totally wrong though
my personal tipple of choice is cider. Shall I bring some 2 litre bottles and we can sit in the park together? :rotfl:top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

get ahead, it's a great idea
i was thinking of making some bread early, but then I wondered if perhaps it would be even better to bake the bread, make into sandwiches and then freeze...did you have a plan along those lines weezl ?

This is his way of saying how upset he is he'll miss whole ten days of the planner. Honest
Nevermind hun, I'll just have to make it up to you when you get back fed up with all those giant burgers....
Weezl, veggie burgers recipe question - are they still on the evening meals list, and if so, where is the latest recipe ? Cos the one on your blog calls for half a jar of cabbage, and our shopping list most definitely suffers from a lack of half jars of cabbage.
And I take it that sweetcorn fritters have been axed ? What have they been replaced with ?
I'm sure you have it all in hand with the finalised planner, I am just an impatient beggar, sorry0 -
I've cleared some space, of course we are having to eat our way through it, which may not be the best way to start a 'Frugal Meal Plan' month
I think I may enough space by Tuesday to do that then.0 -
And another question
Which bread recipe are we using and can I have a linkie please ?
Aless, I would recommend soaking all pulses regardless of the way you ar intending to cook them, otherwise you could find it takes rather a long time for them to soften.0 -
yes, this. You have to eventually throw something away because you're perpetually feeding the starter! otherwise your countertops and fridge would be taken over by the dough
my mom made sourdough fairly often at one stage in my childhood. I am very reminiscent of that, as it's one of my very favorite things - and not commonly sold here in the UK so if I want it, I have to make my own. Reminds me to go switch my oven on and see how the first batch comes out!
can I be a shorty too? 5'4", size (coughjusthadababycough) and wee tiny feet at size 4s!!
A space thing then.
That makes sense now.
Thanks.
Size (cough) tooNo one mentioned age before...ahhh!!!! lol

Lesley_Gaye wrote: »If you do sourdough, you may not have added any yeast from a pkt or wherever, but it will still have yeasts in, they are in the air, and your sourdough aquires them from there. That's how they work I'm afraid, so no good for a yeastfree diet
Thanks for that, I will maybe have a go at a sour dough soon. But I will stick to yeast today for speed. I may go back to soda bread for me but not this month.
Regarding alcohol, I gave it up for Lent. Only a day to go now:D
