Help Natwest Loan

I was wondering if anyone would help, I have had a Natwest Loan for 5 years my loan when I started was £30,000 including interest. It is now £11,000 including interest. So I have paid a total of £19,000. I have around 3 years left on the loan now. I was wondering, is there anyway I can get a cheaper settlement with Natwest so that I dont have to pay the full £11,000. My original amount was for £24,400. Therefore, would Natwest accept £5,400 as a settlement of the loan? Can anyone help? Is this something natwest would do?

If I read your sums right, original amount was £24.4k taken out. You paid £19k, and are asking if paying the remaining £5.4k would settle it?

In short, no. Natwest will want to charge you the interest on the years you have had the loan for I'm affraid.

However, if you paid off early, you wouldnt have to pay back the remaining 3yrs interest as you havent used it as such.


I've spoken to Natwest on the phone before about a loan I have with them, and if you ask them what the current "Settlement Figure" is, they will get back to you with one pretty quick.

It's dead handy to know actually as then you have a figure to work with should you be planning to pay it off early .
