who is offering the best income multiples at the moment?

i am looking to borrow 4x the joint income of myself and my partner and the first couple of places we have been to have said they won't do this much - only up to 3.5x.

this will be for a loan of approx £720-50k. i have a 25% deposit.

also - does applying for each of these mortgages harm my credit rating? otherwise, I would have thought i would have a v good rating.

Plenty will go 4 times income.

However it will depend on the overall scenario i.e. income/debts/credit history/dependants to name a few areas.

If they are credit scoring you each time - then yes it will be harming your credit score.

I would suggest stop trying to DIY the mortgage, as you are going to the wrong lenders and harming your credit file, which could lead to the other lenders (the ones who would agree the mortgage amount) declining you as well.

Get in contact with a whole of market mortgage adviser and let them find a good deal for you.
