Hi, when you say "wrapped" do you mean that the actual straighteners inside the box were wrapped in something?

I bought some as spares incase my existing ones that I've had a couple of years break. Received mine the seal was broken, rang ghd as it instructed to on the label and was told it was quite common due to box being heavy. When I opened up the box the plates of the straighteners were covered in a sort of black dust that I put down to static.

Wiped them clean, tried them and they're nowhere near as good my existing ghds. I have to go over each segment of hair several times to get it straight and then by this morning my hair isn't straight again. I'm wondering if I've been sent a dodgy pair or if the new ones just aren't as good as the older ones.

I didn't order the ghds but ordered a few other things last Friday and they haven't arrived yet even though I got a dispatch email on Saturday. I think the time they give on the t&cs is 4/5 days.

Mine were in the same condition as yours and covered with the black stuff and seal broken. I have not tested mine yet. Do you reckon that it is because they are slim that they don not work so well? I will try mine later as i have hard hair to straighten.

I ordered mine sunday night, got them Tuesday via courier. I have to say that they are fab and work fine on my barnet. It was still straight this morning after doing in yesterday afternoon. Very pleased.

wish someone would invent ghds that get rid of the grey hairs though

Ive been looking at GHD for ages but would never pay the price. Managed to get them today for 80 quid which i feel is a bargain. I am one happy girl. Thank you x
