I want to make cranachan, but we dont like, or have, any whisky. Would you think it might taste ok done with port instead ? Don't want to just try it because it will waste all the cream....

Only ever done it with Whisky, but I did make a cranachan cheesecake without any alcohol if that helps!

That will be fine- I have made it once with Baileys and put choc flake on the top. Even missed out the whisky once hehe but that wasn't popular0

I've got loads of booze left over from Xmas we didn't have any one round this year because FIL had a stroke the week before.
