Thanks for the replies all.
As for residence, I'm an Australian on a Highly Skilled Migrant Visa, and don't have UK citizenship. Not sure if I'll ever be back to live in the UK (may move back to Aus), but I'll be full-time employed in Europe for a few years.
Maxxing out the ISAs (mine and my fiancee's) is one option to avoid all the tax & hassle, but if I could get a better return and not pay tax that'd be preferable.0 -

I didn't mention 'one', I mentioned 'me', following advice that I received on the subject from HMRC. :cool:Marching On Together

There is nothing in statute that leds YOU do this. It is fraud, plain & simple. If you wish to defraud the UK Revenue then that is certainly not a recommended money saving technique. Which HMRC office gave you written advice that you could do this? Have you challenged that written advice?I didn't mention 'one', I mentioned 'me', following advice that I received on the subject from HMRC. :cool:0 -

Your ISAs are likely to be taxable wherever you go in Europe & may fall foul of Australia's FIF regime when you go home...0 -

lol - Have I challenged their advice?? :rotfl: Of course not, their advice was correct. You don't know my circumstances old son, although if you read my posts above, you would get enough information to save you going off on a complete tangent and wrongly accusing me of "fraud", plain and simple :rotfl:Marching On Together
