Bought it:)
I love cook books with photos, I fear these won't have photos though, they look like pared down versions.
But too good a price not to take a risk.
Couldn't get the free delivery codes to work, but the 10% off one did -so £10.94.
Just a note of caution for those considering these books. I bought this exact set last year for my son, whose studying catering and obviously loves cooking. Whilst bookpeople are great and the price is a bargain if you like really "wordy" cook books they are rather un-inspiring. You are right in the assumption you won't find a single photo in any of them!
I'm afraid these have stayed on the shelf barely opened and the cooking that gets done is from the books that are more fun to look at and easier to follow.
Wouldn't want to put anyone off a bargain just thought it worth mentioning so that people would have a better idea what to expect. Hope that helps.0 -
not sure about the others but I have real fast food and it is one of my favourite cook books. I too love pretty pictures but this one has brilliant recipes that are really quick and easy to make and delicious!0

These are paperback reprints without photos, not the full sized hardback books with pretty pictures.. I bought them in 2006 and although i have found them useful (soup one's interesting), they aren't anything like the originals a few of which I have subsequently pickled up for a fiver each in TKMaxx and the like.
I don't want to put anyone off a bargain either, but don't buy them thinking you're getting books that would normally retail at £10 or £20 each. These would only ever have been sold for a few pounds.

Mine have arrived! No photos, but a brilliant set for the money! Thanks again OP!Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. ~ Mother Teresa0

I can't believe people pass up a cookbook because it's not prettified. Real Fast food (none will be pared down) is a wonderful book in part because Nigel Slater's way of writing about food is simple yet inspiring. Likewise for the Elizabeth David ones, she's a culinary legend.0

I agree!! Real Fast Food is an excellent book. Used it often. I am not an ambitious cook but have followed recipes in Nigel Slaters book. They are easy and tasty!! Daughter left home 6 months ago and took it with her, so I can now replace it cheaply. Thanks OP.0

I too have these books and don't mind the fact there are no pictures as some of my favourite and most used cookery books are 30 years old (from the days when they didn't put pictures in!)
If it's good recipes you want then these books are a bargain.0 -
I bought these and added one of the filler books (Camp Rock) for £1 to get free delivery and then used the 10% code and got the lot for £9.89. Got to be a bargain at that price - even if it just gives you some new ideas.0

Just ordered these, the free delivery code didn't work with either next day or normal picked.

I got mine but I'm disapointed with them as there are no pics at all, but I guessed that after I had ordered anyway.
But just to warm others.0
