Hi. Hope someone can steer me here.
I have a UF endownment which is currently worth 8.5k. It has 18 mths to run and has a premium of 21.52 per month.
I have a mortgage of 47k with NW at 2.5%.
Would it be better if I cashed the endownment in and paid it of the mortgage?
Thands for your help in advance

I am not fully up to speed on endowments. However these are based on the stock market right? IF not is yours? Either way you seem to be asking us to predict the future as to which will be better. I would say its impossible to say if the stock market will skyrocket next week. What is for sure is that you currently have a low interest rate on your mortgage and interest rates are 'unlikely' to sky rocket in the next few months. Personally I dont think the stockmarket will take much more of a dive (i know it was down 1% ish last night!). I would keep the endowment personally. 18months is a long time into teh future to predict though :-/YNWA

Not necessarily although most will have some exposure to the stockmarket. The amount will vary depending on the investments you choose and/or have available to you.Would it be better if I cashed the endownment in and paid it of the mortgage?
We need to know about the endowment to be able to comment about it. Give some detailsI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
