help with coals on my gas fire ..they have gone brown......

the fake coal on my living flame flame gas fire have all gone a browny colour.
i have tried washing them, but with no effect.
how can i get them looking black again.......

Hello, you can get spray paint especially for this, not sure which highstreet shops stock it, if any, but my calor gas shop has it, if they are really bad they might need replacing

Years ago, I remember reading that you should polish them with blackcurrant jelly - honest!!

I saw this type of paint in Homebase a couple of weeks ago. It had been reduced for sale, dunno if they are discontinuing or not, but I imagine your local B&Q or Homebase would probably sell this paint. (original price was £3-£4 IIRC, so not too expensive)

What about blacking them with boot polish?

rub them over with a bit of charcoal from an art shop. or a lump of actual coal if you can find one.
