Defaults on Credit File

I have 6 defaults on my credit file at the moment and some of them are coming up to being 6 years old this year. Will these defaults disappear from my credit report after 6 years, even if they have not been paid?
If so, is it likely that the companies will put them back on my credit report for a further 6 years?
Thanks

Its one default per debt, so they cant re add it or change the date of the default.
They should automatically fall off after 6 years (paid or not), but if after 30 days they are still on there, contact the credit reference agency Experian/Equilifax/CallCredit and ask them to be removed.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Thanks - Is there any way that after the defaults have been removed, say, a mortgage lender will be able to find out about them?0

The creditors would only be able to check the last 6 years. I'm not sure if a mortgage lender would bother asking if you've ever had defaults - they may ask if you've ever been bankrupt but defaults wouldn't bother them too much if from that long ago.
It will still take a little time for you to rebuild your credit score, but if you are able to get a credit card and pay the full balance off at the end of each month (and make sure you are listed as being on the electoral roll at your address) you should soon be able to build it back up.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thanks - Yeah it might be worth me getting a small credit card and use it to build my credit score up. Thanks

If your going for a credit card always check the apr and rate, dont withdrawl from a atm machine and if you need money always set aside some on a debit card, that way if you need cash quickly you have it in a instant and have enough also as well to pay back the credit card,
hope that helps,

Following on my post about a statute barred debt, this should be over 6 years by now I'm expecting this to be off of my credit file but because I'm disputing the debt and nothing has been paid on it, does this mean I will still have bad credit even though there would be no defaults or anything??0

If you have had say 10 defaults and they all come off your credit file the same day, your credit rating will start to improve from then on but will not just jump back up to a great credit score straight away.
It will start to go up and if you show a good payment history then this will quicken the process. Not sure how long it will take though. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I have been looking through my Equifax credit report and I have a debt from Barclaycard for £677 and it shows that it defaulted in 07/2005 and the current balance is £677. Now, I started making payments to HFO Services to pay off the debt, but couldn't keep the payments up and they have too put a default on my credit file with the EXACT same details as the Barclaycard debt but with a current balance of £389.
Are they allowed to do this?
