I don't know how to go about this, but I really need some advice from Martin, or someone, to help my mother. She's disabled and unable to work, and since my father left, has struggled to cope on the very limited benefits she gets. What tiny savings my dad decided to leave her with just gained her £1.76 in interest (for a year!!!!) and she struggles even to give herself a nice treat every once in a while. Trouble is she is a kind-hearted person who still wants to be able to provide for her family, and she's getting increasingly depressed at not being able to help herself, or others financially. She's fantastic with the money she does get, and is very frugal. She has very few luxuries.
She doesn't understand how a simple, decent person like herself goes without while there are some out there who seem to live the high life without actually lifting a finger to do so. She would love to work, I think, but she has several conditions which mean it is impossible.
Can someone please help me give her some advice, just to reassure her. I need to tell her everything is going to be ok.

Have you checked to see whether she may be entitled to any other benefits like http://www.entitledto.co.uk web site0
