I've just bought bogof sausages at the supermarket and fancy making sausage rolls. Never having tried making them before, I'd be grateful for any tips!

My Mum just used to use plain sausage meat - skin your sausages and mush the meat in a bowl. You could add onion, pickle, cheese ...
Are you making the pastry from scratch or defrosting some bought stuff? Basically roll it out into a oblong, cut into long ribbons a couple of inches wide, lay the meat on lengthwise, roll up round it so you have one long filled 'sausage' like a Swiss roll, then cut into slices. Brush the top with milk or beaten egg and put on tray in oven. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -

To quickly skin your sausages, freeze them, slit the skin and run under cold water tap. the skins just fall off. Then wrap in either rough puff or flaky pastry.Sealed pot challenge 5430
