Change Bank Account

Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before but I need some advise on which bank to switch to? Most banks will turn me down as they do a credit check.
I am in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS and just wondered if anyone has changed their bank due to this and if so, which banks should I try?
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks:rotfl:

Hi and welcome
We changed to the Co-op Cashminder where there is no credit check. The nice lady did ask if we were having "financial troubles" but said this was OK. You get a visadebit card but no overdraft or cheque book You can bank online and do all the stuff you normally do. Just make sure you don't have any debt with the bank.More than Two Years in

You should be okay with any basic account, just inform the bank teller that you want a basic no overdraft account, so no credit check is needed.
That said Co-op cashminder (above) and Barclays CashCard are accounts also available to undischarged bankcrupts, so you are nearly always accepted. Co-op is more independent i believe so would be a safer bet.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

I believe the Co-op and post office are often advised.
One thing to bear in mind when asking for an account. The bank needs your written permission before they can do a credit check - if they don't have it and did a check, make a complaint to the bank and insist on the check being removed from your credit file. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I've got a Natwest Step account but it really depends on who you owe money to - I don't owe any money to Natwest or their group in my dmp so I was ok with them. Comes with a Solo card.
Barclays will open a basic account even if you owed them money - they did for my OH who went BR owing them a bit. It comes with a Visa debit card.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Forgot to say, if you do go for Barclays, make sure they put you through for a basic account and not a normal account otherwise you will get refused and then it gets complicated. Same with Natwest - I applied for mine on-line and had no problems.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
