i am seriously thinking about getting a mortgage for the 1st time. previously my work has been very mobile and i have had to relocate more or less every 6 months. however now i have decided that i want 2 settle down. enough rambling - does anyone know of anyone/company that offers mortgages to people with a relatively poor credit rating? or does anyone know of a fee free or cheap broker that will do the research for me with specific expertise in this field?
thank you and if anyone needs more info to help me please just shout!

why do you say your credit rating is poor? Have you got a copy from Equifax or Experian?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. There are loads of companies wanting your business. be wary of going to any of the "specialist adverse credit" mortgage companies heavily advertised on tb and various other places as they will rip you off a fortune, you are right in looking for a fee's free whole of market broker. As herbie says above, get a copy of your credit rating (the whole thing not just your credit score) and give it to your advisor to see. {Please bear in mind you may need a larger deposit with adverse credit, and 100% is generally not available to adverse credit applicantsI am a Mortgage Adviser
