A difficult decision...

Hi Littlemissmoney,
Just re read your post... Getting rid of my dog isn't an option at all. She is my companion and there is no way that I would ever part from her. She keeps me sane and gets me out of the house. My health would be a lot worse without her.
Nope everything else would go first.
Suggesting I get rid of her is a little callous...
As for wearing glasses instead of contacts, well my eye sight changes too frequently for that to be a cost effective option. Not only that my prescription for glasses is so low that the cost of the lenses for glasses is in the region of £180, so if I'm changing them twice a year its no saving.
Thanks for helping though.0 -
Hi beanielou,
It odd - you muddle on and then you actually sit and work out a budget and then you see the glaring whole...
You are right. I can't really afford to have a car - but its a catch 22. I can't get anywhere without one. There are only two towns that the buses run to from my village, and none of them are at times which would help with me get to a job. I tried it for 6 weeks in the summer and I was so isolated.
But...if I move to the local town, which is what I am trying to do, I will have access to proper transport systems and potential jobs. I can then hopefully get rid of my car or afford to keep it! I can walk to the shops if I'm well and save on fuel.
I really would like to use what is left of the payout to help me start again otherwise it will be a wasted opportunity.0 -
Have you got the payout in the best savings account to maximise the interest? You can include this income in your SOA. Make sure you're also not paying tax on the interest.
