Credit file and defaults.

Just some info...
My older sister defaulted on a loan 2 years ago it was passed onto a debt collector. She checked her credit file and it still has gemoney on it. She was going to try and bargain with the debt collectors and offer F&F payment and try get her default removed where does she stand with this?

The only people that can remove the default are the ones that put it on. If this wasn't the DCA then they won't be able to do anything about it.

I'm not sure if it's possible for the original creditor to remove the default and the DCA to then replace it, enableing them to remove it later. I wouldn't hold out much hope though.
