@OP I appreciate that you're a small business but you can get cover for staff absence on jury service you should be able to get it added either to any legal expenses cover you have or as part of business interruption.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

    Really? That's appalling!

I've never done jury service but always naively assumed you would be paid your normal wage. I'm not surprised people don't want to do it in that case.

Many organisations still pay people on jury duty so they don't necessarily lose out.

Some business insurance policies have built in cover to claim for Jury Service - check yours out...

I was paid as normal by my employer for my 2 weeks' jury service and could claim reasonable travel expenses from the courts as well so I wasn't out of pocket.

Think it's at the discretion of the employer though.
