I can login to gateway.gov.uk but not HMRC

I'm not sure I click on to proceed to the Self Assessment website as soon as it said that activation was successful. Under the gateway website it says that I have enrolled in that service but on the HMRC website, when I use the forgot password option, it says that they could not find my account.

I signed up with the gateway website about 2 weeks ago. Perhaps they are having a slow day syncing their databases if they only do it after activation? I'll just keep trying.

I have searched and found that the Online Services Helpdesk is open between 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, seven days a week so I'll try give them a call as soon as I get in.
