I'm newly working from home part time and wonder if I am entitled to claim a contribution towards my utilities from my employer? What are the tax implications of this?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Are you required to work at home by your employer or is it your choice and a special arrangement? If your contract of employment states that your main place of work is your home address, then you may be able to claim £3 per week. If not, you can't claim anything.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

That's great - thank you for the advice. Yes my contract states I work from home so I can claim then.
Is the £3 the employer contribution or is tax relief?0 -

I am self employed myself, so am not certain how you get the £3 but the following might help: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/MANUALS/eimanual/EIM01476.htm
if you are sure that you are spending a lot more than £3, which you wouldn't if you were in the office, you could ask for me but £3 is "no questions asked" and you are saving a lot on fares.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
