It's all about the eco lanterns. It was the wire that the cow ate, eco lanterns use fire-proof string instead.0

I'm sure I read a story over the summer about a thatched house in Germany that had set on fire after one landed on the roof causing £250,000 worth of damage - think they are a bad idea personally.

My Bold.If swallowed, the wire could puncture the stomach lining, and in some cases this could prove fatal," says Mike Thomas, a NFU spokesman. "There's also a good chance that the wire could get wrapped around an animal's foot and become embedded in the skin, which would be terribly painful."
How can we let this slaughter continue, errr if any has happened.
I'm sure the NFU would have taken great delight in quoting cases of dead or mutilated animals at us, but seeing as their spokesman didn't.......0 -
For anyone thinking of buying these from The Works they "work" just fine :j
If you are near an airport do phone and check, Edinburgh airport are pretty clued up on people flying the lanterns and gave a direct number to phone and check and suggested phoning around five minutes before the planned "launch" time. They then gave us a 15 minute slot in which to set them off.
Happy 50th Birthday Lorraine, have a great day and the surprise party was something special.
