I'm sure I read a story over the summer about a thatched house in Germany that had set on fire after one landed on the roof causing £250,000 worth of damage - think they are a bad idea personally.

couldn`t the same be said about fireworks (rockets).. yet thousands are set off every year..
just a thought.. and i also have never set off a lantern either... but secretly i would love too.....lol

I'm sure the NFU would have taken great delight in quoting cases of dead or mutilated animals at us, but seeing as their spokesman didn't.......

For anyone thinking of buying these from The Works they "work" just fine :j

If you are near an airport do phone and check, Edinburgh airport are pretty clued up on people flying the lanterns and gave a direct number to phone and check and suggested phoning around five minutes before the planned "launch" time. They then gave us a 15 minute slot in which to set them off.
