Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me please? I am looking to sell my old Mac computer and found a site purporting to buy old Macs and better still claiming to offer me a fairly good price for my machine.
I just wondered if they are genuine and whether I should go with them really. I would be grateful for any advice.
The company is: http://www.macking.co.uk/imac-systems-c-267.html?gclid=CISm46jOwp8CFY1n4wodQimfzg
Thanks.

How much are they offering you for your mac ?
Check the likes of Ebay and see if you could get more for it locally or on Ebay.
Be Aware of point 10 (above) 10: Our courier insures any consignment to a maximum £60.0 -
it's an iMac and they are offering me £350. Which seemed reasonable to me, really I just wanted to know if they were legit?? :think:0

Also, the point is, all these companies "claim" to value your computer but the point is, how do you make sure they're actually going to pay up. What's to stop them telling you, yeah your computer is worth X amount and then just walking away with your computer never to hear from them again?0

How old is your iMac? If it's newer, I think £350 is a bit too cheap. I think your best bet is eBay or if you have one, a compter exchange (cex)0 -
Thanks but does anybody know if any of these places that offer to buy Mac's are genuine?
I'm a little worried that they may take my Mac and run never to be seen again.....??
Has anybody used any of these places? Or does anybody know anybody who has used them?
I'd be very grateful for any advice.
TIA.

A word of warning about this company....They have had two macs of mine for 7 weeks now and still haven't paid for them. I am now threatening them with legal action.0

I'm very wary of this bit:Any information, data, images, drawings, photographs, and/or other materials you transmit, submit or post (or which you transmitted, submitted or posted in the past) to any MacColl Media Ltd website will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary ("Submitted Information"). MacColl Media Ltd will have no obligations with respect to the Submitted Information, and by transmitting, submitting or posting Submitted Information to any MacColl Media Ltd website you hereby grant to MacColl Media Ltd, and its subsidiaries and affiliates, a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to disclose, distribute, display, perform, copy, reproduce, incorporate, prepare derivative works of, and/or otherwise use the Submitted Information for any and all commercial and non-commercial purposes, including without limitation in connection with the MacColl Media Ltd websites.
So if you leave some artwork, or photos on the machine, they can claim rights to use it commercially? How can they do that???0 -
Why resurrect and old thread accept to promote a site0

I was just going to say; I'd happily take it off your hands for £50 more, and even then I can make £200+, depending on the model.
Our 2009 stuff (completely wiped, so no software either) have just been sold on eBay for 40% off what we paid for them, to give you a rough guide.
