I work for a bank, and whilst they insist that you open a current account with them (done), and prefer that you have your salaray paid in, I don't.
I just get paid into the same bank I've had since I was 11.
There was talk of "everybody must have their salary paid into their xxx account...", but very few actually made the switch, except some younger staff who had no hassles of direct debits to change over, etc.
The only drawback to me not using my staff current account is that I wouldn't necessarily qualify for the likes of staff loans, and staff credit card rates. I can still get them, but a formal credit search must be done, as they can't take a peek at my finances whenever they want to
I don't object to banking with my employer, but I stuck with my original bank because I don't feel that I'm in this job for the long-haul. And if/when I do move, it's likely to be to another bank, who will get me to open yet another account
£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600
HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500
"3 months' salary" reserve = £00 / £3600 :eek:0 -
