Hi there
I've been checking the contents of my cupboards and have quite a lot of stuff that I've no idea what to do with. I was having a bit of a health food kick when I bought them and I've no clues on recipes
This is what I've got.
Dried
Risotto rice
Porridge oats
Pasta
Spaghetti
Rice
Mung beans
Aduki beans
Chick peas
Red lentils
Millet grain
Quinoa
miso soup sachets
Tins
Pinto beans
Haricot beans
I have loads of spices / herbs & stuff too, as well as normal food. Any ideas gratefully appreciated.
TIA

All dried beans and chickpeas: sprout them and then you'll have the healthiest possible fresh salad.
soak them in clear plastic bowls or even a large jar for about 6 hours then pour the water away, and thereafter rinse them 2 or 3 times a day. In this season they'll sprout fairly quickly. The best time to eat them is when they just begin to form a green tip.
I'd say, do one large handful to start with, then you can see how much to do next and how they grow.
Quinoa is ideal in soups and cooks reasonably quickly. It's a good, unusual addition to Scotch Broth.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
