I'm just wondering though how you could 'contest' it, as I'm sure that OP in this case may not have exact dates, etc. I'm in a similar boat with an old CC debt of my OH, Capquest too, and although I know roughly when she had the CC, I can't recall what payments were made, when we were first contacted, etc.I'll have to sort this out!:rotfl:0 -

Basically you tell them its SB (you don't need to provide dates) then they have to prove its not (which they won't be able to from the what the OP has said).
For your case, if you are not sure but think it is likely to be SB you could just chance it and send the letter is RAS's link. If it aint SB they'll soon let you know. (this is only if you cannot work out the last payment etc). An alternative is to do a subject access request and check the dates of payments from that info.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for that. Definately worth a try, though i'll have to decide which way to go. Maybe try SB first and see what happens.Basically you tell them its SB (you don't need to provide dates) then they have to prove its not (which they won't be able to from the what the OP has said).

When you CCA them they have to send copies of the last 6 years statements, if these are blank then you know. Or the CRA will have an entry, no entry means it could also be SB'd....
I'd do what RAS/Tixy etc suggested, send the SB letter and see what transpires.
Good Luck :T
