reclaiming mortgage charges

hi, please could anyone tell me if it is possible to reclaim late fee charges on mortgages? I had a mortgage with bradford and bingley and changed lender in 2004 when we moved. I have written requesting the exit fees back and bradford and bingley have told me today they are looking into the matter. This has made me think i may be able to reclaim these late charges as well. i have succesfully reclaimed bank charges but am now unsure if mortage lenders are still refunding?
