preserving flowers

i have some carnations from my nans funeral that we would like to preserve, how can we go about it. if we press them do we just put them between some books, i have never done it before

I had my bouquet pressed and a picture made out of it, but think that was quite expensive and a LOOOOOONG while ago. Can't remember the name of the company, but just googled 'preserved bouquets' and got a lot of results. Depends whether you want to get it done for you or have a go yourself.
Think for 'thick' flowers like carnations, you have to take them apart, as they wont dry out properly if the petals are all bunched together.
