Quidco - is this right?

On hot offers today it says..

Eurogrand has increased cashback to £45 for depositing and wagering £25.

Does this mean that if I join up and put down £25 even if I lose it all I will get £45? So £20 for doing nothing? Surely this is not right is it?
taken on second job + £160 per month
rejigged my bills + £190 per month
got cheaper car to run + £40 per month
got two liftsharers + £120 p/m
given up smoking since 31/12/2008 + 180 p/m

In theory yes, that's right. However, cashback is never guaranteed, and should be viewed as a nice extra.
    • Is cashback guaranteed?
    • We guarantee to give you 100% of the cashback that you earn, however we cannot guarantee that the retailer will pay us for every purchase. This only happens in a handful of cases - currently 99.86% of all purchases receive the cashback without issue.
Reasons why cashback might not be passed onto us by the retailer or merchant:
      • purchases which are subsequently returned, cancelled or an order amended
      • purchases not completed wholly online
      • purchases where another referrer has been awarded the cashback commission (e.g. a price comparison site)
      • purchases where abuse or suspected abuse of Quidco's or the retailer's terms and conditions is in evidence
      • purchases where a voucher code or gift code not authorised by Quidco has been used
      • purchases from a retailer who ceases trading or goes into administration prior to the cashback being paid
      • purchases where the terms and conditions of either Quidco or the retailer were not met
Generally, sticking to the terms and conditions provided in the retailer description and ensuring you follow the recommended process will minimise the risk of anything going wrong.

Lots of people have done similar sign ups in the past and got their Quidco money without problem, but for some the cookies didn't register or they had some cookie from another site on their pc which took precedent over quidco's. Quidco will look into any query for you but if the other site still won't pay them then you get nada.

    It's only a game

Why should it be viewed as a nice extra? There is nothing on the page to say you might not get the cash back.

It clearly says "£45 for a new player depositing and wagering £25 within 2 days of opening an account." No mention of the fact that you only have a chance of getting cash back.

This is complete tosh!!!!! In the first part of the sentence they guarantee to give you 100% of the cashback you earn. If you deposit £25 and wager it within 2 days of joining then you have done all you need to do to earn it, therefore YOU HAVE EARNED THE CASHBACK. In the second half of the sentence they say they cannot guarantee the retailler will pay them. Who the f*ck cares if they don't get paid, they have already guaranteed to give you the money you earn and have not stated any conditions..

I'm sure it's mentioned in the T&Cs you agree to when signing up to Quidco. Sometimes it doesn't track for whatever reason, and in that case you aren't guranteed to get the cashback.

No, you are completely wrong, Eurogrand is not mentioned in the T&C in any shape or form. But on the Eurogrand page, just before you click the link to go to the site is that you WILL get the cashback.

And, as quoted by MrsBartolozzi, Quidco guarantee to pay you the money you earn.

I have done loads of these with most of the casino companies - you have to wager some of the money...blackjack is best as the odds are just below even. When you have wagered the amount that you need to, just stop and you get more than the initial profit. It is hit and miss, sometimes more sometimes less but you are guarenteed at least the initial profit. So far I have earned over £300 this way.

most of the gambling companies on quidco give you at least your money back as cashback for depositing and wagering a set amount.

i have done nearly all the companies on quidco and made a few hundred pounds.

i always play blackjack or roulette (bet on black or red). i stop when i have bet enough and usually draw out my money i started with.

one tip though: never take the free money the casinos offer you without checking t&c. sometimes you have to bet 25 times the bonus amount before you can withdraw. for the eurogrand offer it works out at £600 in bets - you will never get your money back out.

thanks guys, anyone know if there is a thread anywhere for alerts when deals that are worth doing come up?

also is it that easy to get your money back out of the casino if you still had some left?
taken on second job + £160 per month
rejigged my bills + £190 per month
got cheaper car to run + £40 per month
    got two liftsharers + £120 p/m

  • anyone signed up to eurogrand? my antivirus software etc has flagged it up as dangerous & poss harmful download?
  • Quidco dont get "paid" in the typical sense of the word, the 100% cashback they refer to is the money you earn from the retailer. Quidco take a fee of £5 per year from your earnings as their "payment".

For the one above you are expecting £45, so long as quidco recieves this money from the retailer they will pay you it (100% of it) they do not guarantee to pay your cashback, if for example the cookies dont track correctly they are simply a "middle man"

What can also happen with offers like these is that the casino site doesn't make any money from doing this (they are relying on people putting a second deposit on to try and recoup any losses) and will remove the offer and pay no cashback.

For reasons mentioned in a number of posts, whilst highly unlikely (99.86% work) some cashback offers dont work and you wont recieve your money. I believe the main reason cashback offers are not paid is because a problem occurs during the tracking process.
