I'm a big gravy fan, but have never thought of adding Stardrops to it!0

I used a tub of supermarket fresh Turkey gravy on Christmas Day. I almost only heated half of it, but did the whole lot and I have over half left in the fridge (only 2 of us)
Could I freeze it? It was fresh gravy, but as I've heated it up once already is it safe to freeze??0 -
Hello Oakdale, yes should be fine, (don't forget to label it ). I've frozen gravy in the past & its worked well.0

No different from soup, really, is it? Even reheated it should be fine - just make sure you boil it when you use it the next time.0

Always freeze any leftover gravy - you never know when you might need a bit. I freeze even the smallest amount for adding to pie fillings and casseroles.
Don't forget to label it thoughespecially if you also have butterscotch sauce in the freezer
they look identical

It has often struck me that it would be good to have gravy in the freezer to use with a meal, and then to use the giblets/make stock to make the next lot when less busy than trying to get all the components of a Christmas meal together at the same time. Maybe one year I will manage to put the plan into action0

okey dokey, I'll freeze it.
I was just a bit concerned as it would be heated for a second time after I defrost it (as it has already been heated up once).0 -
You should be OK, as long as it hasn't been hanging round for ages. Lots of us reheat soup several times. Bring to the boil and give it a couple of minutes at boiling point, and it should bump off pretty much anything; if it's proper gravy, made with meat juices, it'll have fat in it, so it'll get to a lot more than 100 deg when it boils.0

Definately lable it when it goes in the freezer. I took out what I thought was some curry once, only to find that it was gravy once defrosted!
So, rice and gravy it was for dinner that night!! Lesson learnt!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Agree with labelling, after a friend served Rhubarb pie with peas and gravy and mince pie with custard to her partner! One day I might be more organised...........
