Halifax AIP question....

Hi,

My brother applied for a mortgage through a broker to Halifax and was not declined but it was referred for 24 hours.

They only do a soft credit search, so is this bad news? What takes 24 hours?

Having issues getting a mortgage is epidemic in my family at the moment :D

My Halifax AIP application was referred for 24 hours, mainly because I'd lived overseas recently and so it wasn't such a straightforward case for them to check. It's unlikely to be a credit issue as they'd probably reject outright, so it could well be a case of them having to check out address history, employment history or something like that a bit more closely.
