Stamps - First Day Cover winston churchill (merged)

fdc = first day cover. this means that the franking is the first day that the stamps went on sale. The franking sometimes commemorates the issue of the stamp as well. the envelope normally has a picture on it relating to the stamps. hope that helps

OOOPs, I think that is if you order the collection, my email receipt says 'free Churchill FDC' so I think it is free and dont think we'll get a bill after all.................sorry for the confusion I might have caused xxx

i also think we should be fine for the price as the confirmation email does not say anything about this being a "try before you buy". The only thing that worries me is whether they would honour the order as the confirmation email states: "All orders are subject to acceptance and status. Please note that final acceptance of your order will take place on despatch of the item(s) at which point your card will be charged". A very good find nevertheless for philatelists like me :T0 -

I found the £40 collection on the website too and had the same panic-stricken moment, but decided, like you, that this must just be the 1st class Churchill stamp on an envelope and not the beginnings of a collection on 10 day approval!
Westminster are going to have one heck of a shock tomorrow morning when they arrive for work and find hundreds and hundreds of £0.00 orders to deal with.
I looked up what a Quickorder was, and it apparently refers to something advertised on a flyer or in a special Westminster advert in a mag or newspaper etc, and terms and conditions apply as per the original advert ... so it would be interesting to know from the OP what the original advert said and where it was placed ...
