HP Car Finance ended by Voluntary Termination at 50% stage marked in default

Hi
Just signed up to check my credit files ahead of a mortgage application and noticed something a little worrying
I had a car on finance which reached the 50% stage this summer, so I informed them I wanted to end the agreement via voluntary termination as was my right after having paid back half the amount. They agreed, no problems, came and collected the car.
However, they have marked a default against the account! and the amount "delinquent" was the 50% figure.
Is this right? I thought this was a legitimate procedure, and they told me I owed nothing. I never missed a payment.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steven

complain, if you have done the 50% it should not show a bal or default.0

Will do, I've already drafted a letter to the data controller at the company concerned
Thankfully, I've found the letter they sent saying they accept the voluntary termination and the balance is 0.00
Really angry about this, but all will be well that ends well I guess0 -

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
