Check out this youtube link, there is a girl demonstrating how they sit in the hair ect. Her other vids are worth watching as there are other hair and makeup tutorials.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/xteeener#p/u/18/c39noGl1DkA

    Thanks for that link :D

Has made me think twice in 2 ways :rotfl:

Will likely give these a go, now I know how to do it it's just down to me being brave enough to back comb (something I thort nowt about 20+ years ago) my sleek and well conditioned shiny locks lol :rotfl:

Still, will have to take a weekend to practise etc....... and I really am into less is more :rotfl:

    Should I or shouldn't I?

I nicked this idea from a You tube tutorial yesterday...
When you get the hair out of your hairbrush you can keep it and roll it up into a tube that you can pin to yourhead with kirby grips and get the same effect.
It's free and if some is peeking out it won't show as it's just your hair.

What a wonderful idea! Always a bit miffed at having to throw my old hair away :rotfl:

Must get enough in a week or two to do the old Amy thing! Will start saving my hair as of yesterday - still in brush :D My hair is v long and despite repeated cuttings (mine an inch at a time) and much loss in brush, it's still all there :o

Looks flat though. Over the next few weeks I'll develop a beehive! (what with one thing or another) My bro does lots of stuff with magnets too (tiny powerful ones) .....Hmmm

Too be quite frank, I don't wana backcomb. Much.

Cheers for all ideas, if I get somthing to work or not, I'll let you know :D

    Thanks again

Tell me, tell me tell me!

They arrived yesterday morning but I have been away so only had a chance to have a play this afternoon.

I have hair slightly longer than shoulder length which is extremely fine. I have a side fringe which I kept out whilst using the things I brought off Ebay (Bumpits).

I used the regular sized Bumpit and have to say I'm pretty impressed. I just seperated my hair from the ears accross leaving out the side bits and pulled it upwards and then brushed it through. I then placed the plasttic thing down on my scalp and wiggled it backwards and forwards a little to help it adhere to the hair. I then let the top bit of hair fall back over it - this was where it got a little tricky.

The first couple of times it just didn't look right so I had to take it out and start again. The third time I decided to do a little (and I mean a little) backcombing on the top piece of hair and after doing that it came out much better. I couldn't quite work out how to secure the back though so just tried to let it fall on its own which actually looked really good but the plastic thing didn't feel very secure :o

I've only had a very brief 10 minute play with it so I really need to sit down and try it properly and work out how I can get the plastic thing to feel more secure - I suppose the thicker the hair the less of a problem this would be but as I say my hair is very fine.

The ones I brought came with a pretty good instruction leaflet which shoes how to insert them and then different styles you can do on the reverse. It also shows how to try and secure it in the jair with grips or a clip so the next thing I'm going to do (not today) is try those ideas out.

Personally for the £3 (including postage) I spent on mine I think they are good value and will come in useful. My hair looked lovely after I'd put one in but my main worry was if it was secure enough not to fall out - I do think that once I've had another go I'll be able to work that bit out. Am going to watch a few more tutorials on You Tube to get some tips (I'd definitely recommend watching some if you get these).

Hope that helps a bit :)

  • I tried these but i dont know if its just my hair but i can't seem to cover them and they look really obvious! I guess if you have really thick hair they could work, or maybe i'm just not any good! As someone mentioned before you can get them for about £4 on ebay, they're called Bumpits xx
  • My wife recently placed an order with wowwowhair.com but then realised they are grossly over priced compared to similar products on eBay etc.

When she tried to cancel the order they refused and would not give her an address to return the product.

On closer inspection there are no contact details whatsoever on their site, suspect they are in China.

Do not buy from wowwowhair, they are not worth it
