Help required with Wedding Presents

Hi there, I'm getting married on the 11th August - not long now. I want to tap into some Money Savers help for suggestions with presents. What can I buy for the following:

--> Both Mothers (don't want flowers since these are not a lasting present)

--> Best Man (had an idea to buy a football shirt his team Spurs with "Best Man 4 our names on the back)

--> Flower girl our daughter (thinking about a neckless)

--> Page Boy

--> Usher - do you but a present for an Usher?

Thanks

For the mothers, how about a nice posh photo album to put their fave snaps of your happy day in. You could also include some reprints from the official photo's depending on your budget.

I bought my 9 year old bridesmaid a necklace and she was thrilled with it.

When my sons were page boys for my brother, they were given pewter goblets with their names engraved onto them. They're on display in our sitting room at their request!
Here I go again on my own....

I got my mum and the grooms mum a silver heart shaped chime ball, in a handmade silk organza pouch. Cant remember the name of the shop, but bear with me and ill find the catalogue, they were only £5/£6 but looked so much more expensive. I got our 2 best women silver pens from the same place, and they do some lovely stuff, which is not expensive. ill dig it out and post you the name :o
You're so very special, I wish I was special

Just bought the present for my mum - tickets to see the Spanish Riding School at the NEC. Ok, so she won't be able to look at it every day but she'll remember every single bit of it. When I told her this evening (to check she was free on the date!) she was crying saying "how lovely" the thought was and that she's always wanted to see them. She still remembers every bit of the Elton John concert that she went to....

I'm really sorry to sound stupid, but do you as bride really buy all these people gifts?? Is the wedding in the whole not expencive enough??
I'm sorry I'm original from Belgium and we do not do partybags at the end of a childs birthday, and we certainly not give presents at our own wedding... the point at those days is for those having a b-day or getting married, helping them with starting their lives as a unit, not bankrupt them from before it has even started....
Still hope you have the most magical day on YOUR special day....

The present buying is supposed to be a way of thanking the people who have helped you organise the event before and on the day. The presents do not need to be very expensive, but it's a nice way of letting them know that you apprecaite what you have done for them. I think it's quite important and traditional.

Glad I'm not the only one and I'm from England :D

Happy for those who want to buy presents to do so but I don't feel there should be any pressure or expectation. As for 'thanks for organising' that depends on how it is organised surely? Also it depends on if the bride's parents are organising and paying in which case I can see a gift would be nice or if the bride herself is organising (which in most of the weddings I know of is the case).

As for flower girls/bridesmaids - I remember when the honour of being picked was considered gift in itself  My daughter was a bridesmaid when small and got to keep the dress. She still has it :D
I live in my own little world. But it's okay. They know me here.
