Recycle your old laptop?

  • You should take the hard drive out whoever you sell/recycle it with anyway. Without the H/D there is no risk as they cant retrieve any of your info :)
So much for 'Money Saving' ;)

I've used these for a 4year old advent laptop. They paid £25 for it, which is not bad when you consider it's cost/recycle value to the actual cost/recycle value of a similar aged mobile phone. Paid quickly and communications over email were very efficient.

    HTH

Thanks for that. That's considerably more than this beast is worth, since it runs on swearing, chewing gum, mist, and string!

    Nice to know they're reliable.
    Stage one - declutter
Stage two - sell the clutter
Stage three - turn the money into more money
Stage four - pat self on back

I recently stripped down a dead laptop and sold all the parts individually (i.e. keyboard, base with screen, DVD drive, etc.) and it actually sold for more than the going rate for a working example of the same model!

This was on eBay by the way.

Dell offer a trade-in programme but you get paid pittance in comparison to selling on eBay or somewhere like CEX:
