Trying to get a small loan, frustrating!

Im trying to get a small loan of around 1500, i've had bad credit in the past, with one default which appears on equifax but not experian.......?

at the moment i have a car loan(£13,000), credit card, (£180 balance) car insurance, mobile phone listed as debts and have not missed a payment yet have approached my bank and been turned down to which they explained due to credit scoring.

So im stuck, dont want to go with an overpriced firm and be ripped off as thats how i've got such huge outstanding debt on my car.

question is do i wait awhile and keep checking my report or is it a waste of time even trying with the amount of debt i have outstanding?

thanks
