Have my date

Hi there,
Went to the court last week and had my forms checked and got given my date for bankruptcy: 11th Feb. Even though I am an absolute wreck the time can't go fast enough for me now. I just want it over and done with. Im Bipolar and this whole mess has lead to countless suicide attempts, and has stopped me leading a normal life for over 6 years. Im still terrified that it will somehow fall on my Mum to pay, even though all the debts are in my name, I have no assets, and I have been told by CAB and people on here that she wont be liable. I think it is just my illness talking but it is so hard not to listen to the voices. Had a little silver lining, one of my creditors agreed to write off £8000 due to my illness. I have still included it on my form though is this correct?

Thanks to everyone, will let you know how things go.

Glad you have your date, please don't worry about your Mum, she will not be held liable for any of your debts, they are yours and once you are BR they will be gone.

As for including the written off debt, not sure if you needed to include it, but it's probably just as well to do so, can't think it will hurt.

The 11th of Feb will soon be here, and it will all be done and dusted.

Hope it all goes well for you, and as Doucam has said, try not to worry as the debts are all yours she will not be affected by your BR. And yes, you are right to include all your debts, do not believe anything your creditors say about writing any debts off, this way you are covered and there cannot be any come back from them.

  • Many thanks Dojoman. I thought that about the written off debt. The OR can find out for him/her self that way hey?

    Thanks again.
