Passive Income - help!

Hi, I keep hearing about "passive income" but don't really know what is meant by it. Can someone please give me some examples of passive income, and tell me how easy it is to get it started?

Cheers,

Matt

  • its income that you earn for not doing anything.
For example if you put £1000 into an ISA that gives you £30 a year in interest then that £30 is passive income because you don't have to do anything to earn it.

It can also be income from something that you do once and then keep getting paid for that work. Writing music or a book would be examples. Multi level marketing could be added to the list if you can find a reputable company whose products you do not mind telling others about. Also if you buy shares in a sound company that pays a good dividend every year.

Here is another example of a passive income:

Find a free guide to using google adwords, steal it, rebrand it as "super cash goldmine secrets revealed" and throw in some pictures of money / a porche / maybe a speedboat - save it as a PDF.

    Register www.supercashgoldminesecretsrevealed.com

Write a veeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy long sales page full of fake testimonials offering to make the reader $xxx passive income per month (go high for shock value, go low to look genuine, maybe even use £GBP instead of $USD, it doesnt really matter). **BONUS** you can reuse the same pictures used in the 1st step!

At the bottom of your sales page add the option to 'BUY NOW'. (**make sure you remind the visitor the price will go up very shortly, perhaps add a timer that counts down?)
You can use a free gateway such as PAYPAL (ok) or western union (Much better) to take the customers money, and automatically email them the pdf you made in step one.

Spam links to this sales page everywhere, i mean 10s of thousands of links(**TOP TIP - 3rd world countries have internet connections and very low rates of pay), then pay for advertising on sites that allow targeting the ignorant (facebook is great for this - anyone want to earn money from google, for a £2 application fee?!!).

Sit back and watch poor vulnerable mugs fill you bank account!

This is the more common form of passive income to be found on the internet, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Covers selling stock resources (images, photos, clipart, audio, code etc.), making stuff (books, designs onto t-shirts etc., art, software/plugins), selling subscriptions (affiliate marketing basically, it only covers selling web hosting subscriptions but look up 'affiliate marketing' and you'll find all sorts of different products), monetizing a site (blogs, websites with content/info).

Talks about some types of websites that lend themselves well to repeat visitors. Some of them you could set up in a day with a blog or something, others you might need to make an initial investment by hiring someone to make it for you.

Passive income has kind of migrated into a in-between meaning these days online. Its more 'More Passive' for most 'passive income' methods than totally passive. Usually you still need to make some kind of content or initial investment and poke it every so often to keep it ticking along (promote it every so often, update it once in a blue moon unless you can pay someone else to do those things).

If you've got a skill just type "Passive Income + your skill" in Google and you might find some discussion on how to turn that skill around to be 'passive' on the side.

Yes its horrible, but its also easy for fraudsters to set up (although my post was ironic, I wouldn't be surprised is its been copied and sold on clickbank already!) and usually leaves the victim feeling ashamed at their failure to 'grasp the system' or such, and thus unlikely to take any further action, which is why these type of cons will never go away.

The internet is not magic - if it seems too good to be true, IT IS!
